Most students will present their work in the form of 10-15 minute oral presentations as part of a traditional panel with a faculty discussant.
Proposals with a title and name of the faculty sponsor must be submitted online by March 1, with an abstract to follow for papers that are accepted.
Visit this website or email the conference organizers Alan Baumler and Francis Allard for more information.

Focusing on the Statue of Unity - a figure of Sardar Patel intended to be the tallest statue in the world - and its multiple genealogies, Dr. Kajri Jain links locality at varying scales with the national and global, and the speculative sensibility at its heart in her talk entitled "Unruly Futurities: Temporality, Scale, and Speculation in Modi's Statue of Unity" as part of the 2017 South Asia Speaker Series.
