Happy Summer!
It has been wonderful to watch all the postings and announcements of new books, articles and good works in the cat rescue field over the past several weeks. I especially enjoy reading about the awards being won. You should all be proud of your great impact on championing our feline friends. Go CWA!!
Did you noticed that our past president and goodie bag coordinator, Nancy Peterson, is retiring this month after more than 17 years with the HSUS? Nancy was my sponsor into CWA, and I’m very happy for her. In case you missed the formal announcement, here is a link to the press release. Thank you, Nancy, for all you have done over the years both for CWA and for cats in general. May retirement be full of relaxation and furry friends.
CWA continues to thrive. Happily, applications for new members are rolling in, a baker's dozen since April! Please take a moment to welcome each and every one of them when Wendy posts their contact information, remembering how it was for you as a kitten.
Both Amy Shojai, Conference Chair, and I are continuing to shake the bushes for new sponsors. Several companies have stepped up, and some will even be sponsoring new Special Awards for our 2016 Communication Contest!
