Just a friendly reminder that this Monday August 22nd is National Bring Your Cat to the Vet Day (#Cat2VetDay) and we just launched a new infographic for cat caregivers today.
The American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) has been using the entire month of August to educating cat caregivers on the importance of routine check-ups. Eighty-three percent of cats are taken to the vet in the first year of ownership, yet over half of them don't return!
A scary statistic especially given the fact that routine check-ups allow your veterinarian to detect conditions that may affect your cat’s health long before they become significant so they can be managed or cured before they become painful or more costly.
Many cats and their caregivers hate going to the vet, but there are a variety of things you can do to reduce the stress associated with the visit for both you and your cat.
The AAFP has created an assortment of visually appealing, educational, ready-to-use resources for cat caregivers on the value and hidden benefits of seeing a veterinarian routinely, how to prepare for your cat’s check-up, and how to reduce the stress of the visit.
All resources are available for download on this webpage for members of the press. If you wish to link to a webpage in your article, please use our public landing page for #Cat2VetDay: www.catvets.com/Cat2VetDay. Some resources available for download/use include:
