WCA Update 6 March 2020

Did you hear ProWein has been postponed over increased cases of Coronavirus being confirmed in Germany?

Among others, the China Food and Drink Fair and the TWC Fine Wine Showcase in Changdue have also been postponed.  Just last week, Wine Australia advised they will not be participating in Vinexpo Hong Kong 2020 and will be rescheduling the China Roadshow to September.

Exports are being stifled and inbound tourism continuing to be reduced, coupled with the recent bush fires and coinciding draught, some wine producers are facing a crisis situation.

WCA are hosting a webinar next week that will focus on Crisis Management and how to communicate during a time of crisis and protect your reputation.

This webinar will give you the three essential ingredients to help you communicate in a way that best protects your reputation in a crisis or major issue, the 10 essential rules in crisis communication and key steps on how to build your emergency response communication plan. Be sure to register if you haven't already.

If there is any content you would like WCA to source to help you over the coming months please let us know so we can try and deliver it through our webinar series.  Our number one aim is to support our members through education.

Bailey's Snippet
Anyone who has survived a zombie apocalypse knows that the first thing to stock up on is toilet paper. Luckily, most zombie apocalypses take place in a shopping mall, which makes it very convenient to source toilet paper in bulk. However, when I next find myself in a zombie apocalypse, I’ll be seeking wine in bulk, not toilet paper. Wine can calm even the angriest of zombies.

The past two years have been something of a rollercoaster for the global bulk wine market, but Australia has fared relatively well and is better placed than most of its competitors going into 2020.
