Summer, 2019 Newsletter

It’s finally hot here and making up for lost time.  We had such a lovely, cool spring, I thought our summer would be cool too!  No such luck, but we’re holding up just fine.  You’ll find us either in the air-conditioned house or air- conditioned studio so no problem!!!!  I’m getting lots of creating done and hope to be ready and on top of things by the time HITH rolls around!!!  That will be a first!!!!

Summer Classes

Don’t forget that I offer summer classes in my air-conditioned studio the third weekend of every month.  If you want to get out of the heat and get a great bargain on a fancy place to stay in Scottsdale or Phoenix, here’s your chance.  Come take one of my fun two day classes and find a huge bargain on the Boulders or other fancy hotels/resorts around here, and make it a weekend you won’t forget in a long time. Click here to sign up.

New Addition to the Studio

As many of you know, I rescued an older cat, Tilly, a few months ago and she became a studio cat because she didn’t get along with the cats in the house.  She now has a pal to keep her company.  His name is Simba and he was found by friends of ours and given to us to keep Tilly company.  He is just as sweet as Tilly, loves everyone who comes to visit the studio, and has adjusted nicely to his new home.

New Classes Added

I am thrilled and honored to have been asked to teach a class in Las Cruces, New Mexico, at the Dona Ana Arts Council. The class is on Sept. 27/28, so if you’re interested, please check out my page on their website and also get signed up. I’d love to see you there!!!!

Two new classes are being added in Sedona!!! After my last class at the art center a couple weeks ago, one of the gals who attended, Carol Decker, is putting together two classes at her house in Sedona. One will be Oct. 4/5 and the other Oct. 7/8. If you’d like to attend either class, you can sign up on my my website through PayPal, or send me a check. Your payment is the enrollment in the class.

Special Gourd Class Offered

As many of you know, I’ve been asking guest artists to teach at my studio, and the next opportunity is to come make a mask with Darlene Saucedo. Darlene is an award winning gourd artist and an experienced teacher!!! She has chosen a wonderful mask piece that we’ll all create, so I hope you’ll take advantage of this opportunity to come join us!  I’m really excited and I know it will be great fun! I have no experience making this kind of art, so come sit at a table with me and we’ll fumble along together.

The class is Sept. 14, and the info about how to sign up is on my website on the "News" page or go directly to Darlene's website, so no excuses! Get signed up and come join me for a day of fun and the opportunity to learn to create a beautiful gourd mask!!!!

Hidden in the Hills

The Sonoran Arts League's annual Hidden In The Hills open studio tour will be November 22 - 24 and November 29 through December 1. Cuvee Art Studio will again be a host studio. In addition to Joanie and Charlie, there will be four other artist with some fabulous art work.

New Art Work

I’ve been busy in the studio creating pieces for local shows, galleries, and for Hidden in the Hills, which is in Nov. The way time flies by, it’s best to get ready early because time seems to move faster than I do. Here are some of the new pieces I’ve created so far.

Hope you all stay cool this summer and enjoy the time you have with family and friends. Stay well and enjoy life!!!
