From the Chair…
Tēnā koutou katoa
In March the government announced Levels one to four in response to a world-wide pandemic. At Level four we were locked down in a way never before seen in NZ. It’s been heartening to see the way many whānau have responded by supporting people in our communities all over the country.
It seems that the plan put in place in NZ – to eliminate the virus – has been successful in NZ. We are reminded always though that the virus remains active outside NZ.
In March the AGM for the Trust was postponed. We now CONFIRM that the AGM will be held at Ngatokowaru Marae on Sunday 28th June. See the notice in this pānui.

Raukawa ki te Tonga Trust has co-ordinated with Te Rūnanga o Raukawa and Raukawa Whānau Ora by granting $25,000 towards the Raukawa Whānau Ora Covid-19 response. The purpose of this grant is to assist Ngāti Raukawa whānau living within the rohe who may need support at this time.  Assistance will be through food grants and hygeine packs.  This is on top of other great initiatives that Raukawa Whānau Ora have in place.

In June 2020 we launched a refreshed modern website.
Check it out:  We invite feedback and your comments.
The iwi register is a priority project this year. We ask all members (registered and those wanting to register) to go to the registration page of our website and create a MāoriMe profile.  Add as little or as much information as you like – we need at least your full name, date of birth, whakapapa details and email address at this point.  Here’s what happens with your information:
  • If you are registered on our member database: Your details will be ‘matched’ with what we have in our database.  If you are matched this means you can login to MāoriMe anytime and update your details with us and that will automatically update our member database.    We will let you know whether you’ve been matched.
  • If you are not registered on our member database: a registration application will automatically be generated for you. We may need to seek further information from you to confirm that you are in fact from Ngāti Raukawa.  We will then get your registration verified from a kaumātua from your hapū.  We will let you know once your registration has been verified.
Fish Distribution
Jess Ratapu (Ngāti Kauwhata) has been the contact for several years receiving orders for fish at the Raukawa Whānau Ora office and organizing delivery. Thanks to Jess for great work for the iwi and to Raukawa Whānau Ora staff for their support. Marae representatives have been informed that orders can now be made directly through the Raukawa AHC office.
