In the lead up to the last State Election in March last year the Premier, Gladys Berejiklian announced that a new Central Coast Education and Employment Precinct would be located in Gosford along with three others in Sydney. At this time all three Sydney Precincts have been announced but the State Government needs to complete the promise now and make an announcement in respect to Gosford.
Gosford Erina Business Chamber has reaffirmed its support for the University of Newcastle’s plans to establish a Campus on the old Mitre10 site in Mann Street, Gosford which is owned by the government.
UON has confirmed that they are committed to a Gosford Campus as soon as the State Government gives them the site and provides seed funding of $20 million.
The Chamber is disappointed that the Government is prevaricating in making a decision that will see the Campus built in Gosford and is also concerned that the Government refuses to invest in a new Education and Employment Precinct in Gosford.
