NRA Networking Breakfast 2019

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2019 NRA Networking Breakfast! We always enjoy this time to connect and network with the SHFM family. We would like to extend a special thank you to our current Hennessy Traveler, Mike Johnston and our military guests!

It is especially difficult to describe the range of experiences and emotions that any Civilian Military Traveler would have. Working with the airmen and contractors so closely for 30 days was personally inspiring and humbling, yet professionally enriching and extremely rewarding. In our careers we sometimes have short journeys or episodes that transcend the normal day to day work experience. This opportunity was without question the highlight of my 40 plus year foodservice career. The competition between the Air Force Bases was fierce. The level of commitment and desire to be the best was apparent throughout all ranks, from Airman to General. Each base had its own unique and strategic military defense mission, but every base had the same incredible core support mission for Fueling Warriors. These men and women who defend our nation are truly remarkable and deserving of every ounce of our respect. I am humbled by their fortitude, grateful for their service to our nation, and inspired by their dedication to foodservice through nutrition and promoting healthy food choices through the Go For Green Program. quote I am proud to be an American. Go Air Force!!!!

Erica Randgaard – Foodservice Director, Aramark

RangaardYou have a background in events and catering. How has this experience helped you in the corporate foodservice and workplace hospitality role you have now?

My past experience has taught me to always be thinking two steps ahead and it has increased my ability to multitask. There is never just one catering order or one event happening, I must be able to think on my feet and know what is happening in multiple locations. Now as the food service director I oversee five locations in four different buildings plus an outside venue. Having the awareness of what is happening at all of these locations only helps me be successful.
