Returning to Grounds Training Video Modules

All Academic Division faculty and staff are required to complete a “Return to Grounds” training module prior to the start of the Fall 2020 Semester. This module explains basic safety standards and behavioral expectations.  At the end you will be required to acknowledge that you have reviewed the content and agree to abide by the safety standards as outlined.

The module is now available for access through Workday and can be accessed by logging into Workday or by clicking the links below.  There is also a supplemental module available to managers that provides additional details necessary to support your team. We strongly encourage managers to review this video as well.

EVP-COO Teams Preparing for the Return to Grounds

Staff from EVP-COO units across Grounds are busy preparing for the return of students, faculty, and more staff colleagues for the fall semester. Groups focused on HR, operations/ logistics, and a cross-functional virus management operations team are developing and implementing plans that cover everything from employee training to preparation of physical spaces and modification of services to COVID testing and daily health checks. This work is being done in partnership with colleagues from UVA Health, Student Affairs, the Provost's Office, and the schools and units. For more information about the implementation of these plans, be sure to read the weekly Return to Grounds Update newsletter each Thursday and visit the Return to Grounds website. Among the resources you will find on the site are Operations & Logistics Planning Decisions/ Assumptions and Facility/ Space Safety Standards & Recommendations. Thanks to everyone across Grounds working hard on so many aspects of University life during the pandemic.

Parking & Transportation Modifications

Parking options and transit routes will be modified in Fall 2020. Visit the Parking and Transportation website for the most up to date information. The following summarizes operations for Fall 2020:

UTS bus loading protocols, service hours, and routes have been significantly altered. See Fall 2020 routes and the UTS Rider Guide for details.

Employees who hold annual permits expiring on Aug. 15 will receive parking permit renewal information in the coming weeks. New options will be available to accommodate those who continue to work remotely and may not need to park on Grounds every day. Monthly fees are increased slightly in 2020-21 in most central, west, and north Grounds lots ($3-$5/month), but because parking fees were not charged for June, July, and the first half of August, the net annual impact on employees is below 2019-20 annual fees. See the P&T website for information.
