This year marks the 19th annual Village Walk for Cancer Research, a grassroots volunteer initiative of community members who have a passion to raise money for cancer research. Since 2002, the walk has raised almost $736,000 in cash and in-kind donations. The proceeds from this year’s Village Walk will benefit the Cancer Institute’s Seeds of Science grants program.
Organizers have converted this year’s event into a virtual walk, which will eliminate physical contact but still provide a fun way to support cancer research.
Click here to register, donate or become a sponsor.
Everyone who registers will receive a T-shirt and can walk, kayak or bike up to five miles at times of your choice between Saturday, Sept. 26 and Wednesday, Sept. 30. You may participate as an individual or as a team (please practice social distancing guidelines). Those interested in forming a team, can contact Melanie Pederson at chairman@walkforcancerresearch.org
If you are unable to participate in the walk, you can still make a difference by making a donation. All funds remain in Arkansas to benefit our cancer research programs.
