#3 The Edale Skyline Weekend
- Peak District pocket adventure 5th/6th October
This is a brilliant weekend of walking in the Peak District. On this weekend we stay at the wonderfully remote Crookstone Barn. It's a converted barn which offers basic accommodation in the way of four dormitories, a kitchen and two bathrooms. Heated by a large log burning stove, it has wonderfully rustic feel about the place.
On the Friday night we meet at the pub in Hope, and once we're all assembled we will head up the hill by the light of our head torches.
Our walk on Saturday has us start together and takes in a traverse of the southern edge of Kinder Scout. Depending on how people are doing after lunch we might break into two teams, with one team completing the full skyline tour and the remainder heading back on a shorter route for the barn. The day ends on an endorphin high, a tasty home-cooked meal and maybe a cheeky glass of wine or pint of beer back at the barn. Sunday will be a relaxed walk back to Hope – to enjoy coffee and papers in the cafe before the train home - more details here
