Jazz pianist-composer Deanna Witkowski shares the spiritual and musical journey of the pioneering jazz pianist-composer and Catholic convert Mary Lou Williams (1910–1981) in this live performance/talk.
Moving with remarkable ease between Brazilian, jazz, classical, and sacred music, Witkowski consistently thrills audiences with explosive performances that combine virtuosity and heart. Her biography, Mary Lou Williams: Music for the Soul, will be published by Liturgical Press in January 2021.
