Lot's Ait Regeneration Feasability Study

Hounslow Council's Regeneration team invited four American engineering students from Massachusetts to work on a feasibility study for Lot’s Ait Skills Academy (Lot’s Ait is a small island located on the River Thames). The study looked through the creation of a boating skills academy, implementation of watersports, and creation of incubator spaces. Hounslow Council has determined three goals for the project: to grow business in the area, increase skill level, and regenerate the overall borough.

The students developed a feasibility study for the regeneration of the island that investigates the four components of feasibility including the market, technical and organizational requirements, financial aspects, and social impact. The information gathered will aid the Council in facilitating a regeneration project on the island that will have the maximum social and economic return.

What’s next? Hounslow Council will be discussing the way forward with relevant stakeholders.
