News Flash!

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning starting Wednesday October 23 at noon, and PG&E has announced a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) that would impact our communities in Calistoga, St. Helena, and surrounding areas. The outage may last as long as 48 hours.

  • Officer Melissa Brown, at St. Helena PD, asked us to help distribute this supportive resource to our vulnerable community neighbors  – click here to view.  This is an ideal way to help our individuals register with St. Helena Police for welfare checks in case of an emergency.

  • Important Reminder - When the power is off, approach all traffic intersections as a four way stop! 
Due to the uncertainty of the PG&E power shut off this week ...Rianda House will be closed from Wednesday at noon until power is restored, hopefully Friday morning.

Weekly Tai Chi Classes:
This gentle form of slow meditative low-impact exercise helps people of all ages to maintain strength, flexibility, balance, and aids relaxation, stress reduction and better posture. 
Lead by Joan Comendant: Tai Chi instructor for 20+ years, certified PWR!Moves Trainer, senior fitness instructor, and personal trainer.
Tuesdays: 10:30 - 11:30 am at Rianda House

Fridays: 2:00 - 3:00 pm at Calistoga Community Center

IHSS program needs more UpValley Providers in St. Helena and Calistoga!
Join the IHSS Caregiver Registry in order to better service the growing number of UpValley IHSS Recipients. 

An IHSS Provider is someone who is paid to provide services to individuals receiving IHSS services through the IHSS program. Napa County In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) is a program that helps pay for services provided to eligible Recipients to assist their ability to remain safely in their home as they age. 
Attend a free Informational Orientation at Rianda House to learn about how you can become a paid IHSS Provider and help your family and neighbors!  They are offered: 
  • First Wednesdays in English: November 6, 3:00 - 5:00 pm 
  • First Fridays en Espanol: November 1, 9:30 - 11:30 am
