COVID UPDATE

Offices Opening & Appointments

Thank you for the prayers, calls, offers to help, patience, and understanding regarding our staff member that recently tested positive for COVID-19.  We continue working with representatives from the Allegan County Health Department reviewing return to work and normal operations process and procedures to protect the health and safety of our workforce and our community. The Administration office will reopen by appointment only starting Mon 8/10 and the Public Safety Office starting Wed 8/12. We will continue to have some staff working remotely, checking voicemails, and emails. We will provide the best assistance we can while working remotely through these difficult times. Please be patient as we’re working on returning calls and emails as quickly as possible.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Face to Phase & Election

Christmas in August was merry and bright just like every year. Thank you to all who made it so great! Make sure to vote on the Color the Pines photo contest album on Facebook. The winners will be announced on Friday, 8/14. This week starts off with Lake Monterey spot treatments on Monday, so make sure to be on the lookout for any signs posted with information regarding swimming restrictions. The Face to Phase meeting is a week early on Saturday 8/15. With the Board of Directors meeting the following week on Friday 8/21 and the Annual Election & Meeting on Saturday 8/22. Save the date for our Labor Day Tournaments the weekend of 9/4 and Fireworks on 9/5.

ANNUAL ELECTION

Annual Election & Meeting

Absentee ballots are available at Member Service now, and are due no later than Friday 8/21 at 4 pm. Photo ID is required for Member identification – i.e. Sandy Pines photo member ID card; driver’s license, etc. On Saturday 8/22, we are holding the Election and State of the Park & Golf Course Meeting. Due to COVID-19 our polling location has changed to an outdoor venue. All phases will vote this year at the Phase 1 Picnic Shelter. The Annual Meeting is a great opportunity to learn about current park issues and also offers the chance to ask questions from our managerial staff, President, and Board of Directors. All election information including candidate bios can also be found online on our Election Page.

50th Anniversary Logo & Merch

We are proud to unveil our new 50th Anniversary logo that will be used for our marketing and branding in 2021! This new logo integrates our current logo, but adds a little something extra to celebrate our 50th with a splash of gold. There will be limited edition 50th Anniversary Merchandise that we will be selling throughout the year. Sandy Pines Merch is available online, Park & Garden, and the Happy Shack. Be sure to check out our onsite stores to see what new gear they have available. Our online store closes Sunday 8/16, so get your orders in soon. Orders made now will be available for pick up at the Park & Garden Store or by mail on Friday 9/4.

Financial Statements & 2021 Dues

We would like to thank Beth Merren for the wonderful 30+ years she has dedicated to the Sandy Pines team. Her knowledge and understanding of the ins and outs of Sandy Pines was close to her heart and invaluable. Despite a slow start to the 2020 season, we have been making huge progress in the past couple of months and the park is in good shape. The June 2020 financial statements for both Sandy Pines Wilderness Trails and Lake Monterey Golf Course have been approved at our July Board of Directors meeting and posted on the Finance Page. Please note that we’ll have the final 2021 Annual Dues & Assessments total after the August BOD Meeting.
