Fresh News From the Coast!
Here at Motts Channel Seafood we are always talking up our fresh seafood and fish offerings. However, when we realized that Nikki Bartle was celebrating eight years behind the counter we couldn't help but want share the news with our fans.
You see...we know that you have a choice in where you buy your seafood and fish. Our customers tell us that our high standard of service is one of the key reasons they come back time and time again. It is employees like Nikki that make that happen and this newsletter is dedicated to her.

"How much fresh seafood should I buy for dinner for two?"
Nikki's rule of thumb:

Nikki is a lady on the go and loves fresh seafood recipes that can be made with ingredients she keeps on hand. This is a simple yet delicious entree idea utilizing one of her favorite pantry items (see section below). Recipe courtesy of Chef Scott, Samuels Seafood Company.
Coat salmon generously with the Spicy Sriracha Sauce. Press fillet into the panko to crust the top.
In a pan, heat oil to medium, just before the smoke point. Place the fillet panko-side down and fry until golden brown. Turn over and sauté for another 4 to 5 minutes until done.
Remove fillets from pan and place on a few paper towels to drain.
Plate and garnish with a dollop of Spicy Sriracha Sauce and scallions, chives, or chopped parsley. Salt and pepper to taste.
What are Nikki's "go to" pantry items for her seafood meals she prepares at home? Here are her top three:
One of our BEST SELLING marinades, Ashman House Bourbon Teriyaki is excellent on salmon, tuna, as well as all kinds of fish fillets, shrimp and scallops. Try it on your poultry and meat as well.
Kelchner's Thai inspired Spicy Sriracha Sauce is made from sun ripened chiles and garlic blended into a rich and creamy dressing. Perfect complement for fried calamari, fish tacos, crab cakes, and lobster rolls. This sauce provides an easy way to add new interest to old favorites like sandwiches, wraps and burgers.
A wonderful blend of dried herbs and spices, Shipwreck Seasonings Captain's Blend is the perfect everyday seasoning. Though it accompanies pork without comparison, Captain's Blend compliments vegetables, fish, shrimp, chicken and even popcorn. This treasured seasoning blend has won several awards in cooking competitions from Rocky Mount N.C. to Myrtle Beach S.C.
