Dear Friend:
As we approach Easter, I hope you will join me in NOT joining me at church...

It is true that Republican leadership in the House and Senate revoked Governor Laura Kelly's Executive Order to remind religious congregations of the group assembly prohibitions during the COVID-19 crisis.
  • I DO NOT support this position and would have voted against it, had I been given the opportunity.
  • This reckless decision was made for political purposes by members of the leadership team who determine legislative business when the legislature is not in session (Legislative Coordinating Council, or LCC).
  • Governor Kelly sued the LCC and the Kansas Supreme Court is hearing oral arguments tomorrow. I expect a quick decision to overturn.
