What we're doing at the moment

Patient Participation Groups (PPG) across Sheffield
On 30 November 2016, we held our second ‘Patient Participations Groups across Sheffield’ meeting.
We have written a report of the meeting which can be found here.
The topics that were discussed were Transforming Primary Care and Prescribing. All the presentations, along with the report, are available to support PPGs to have discussions around these areas, if they should wish to do so.
We are then encouraging PPGs to share with us any discussions that they have around these topics, so that we can feed your group’s thoughts into our plans and future commissioning decisions.
We are already looking forward to our next ‘PPGs across Sheffield’ meeting, which has been scheduled for Thursday 16 March 2017 6 - 8pm at The Circle, 33 Rockingham Lane, Sheffield. S1 4FW. Please put this in your diaries. We will be sending out more details and booking information soon.
In the meantime, you can check out our dedicated PPG section on our website, which hosts templates and good examples of documents that PPGs may find useful, as well as reports and presentations from our previous ‘PPGs across Sheffield’ meetings. We hope that this section will become a valuable resource for PPGs to share best practice and support each other. We would also welcome any suggestions of what other things PPG members would like to see on there.

Commissioners Working Together

Help develop our options for future health care services

As we have told you in previous Involve Me emails, people living in Barnsley, Bassetlaw, Chesterfield, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield are being invited to share their thoughts on proposals to change our region’s services for:

•    Children’s surgery and anaesthesia
•    Hyper acute stroke, where patients are treated and given care for up to the first 72 hours after having a stroke.

Between Monday 3 October 2016 and Friday 20 January 2017, members of the public are invited to share their views on the proposed option for the future of these services – with a final decision expected to be made by clinical commissioners in February.

For more information on the consultations, please click the above links or visit our website here.

You can also visit or call 0114 305 4487 for more information.

Sustainability and Transformation Plan

You may have heard about Sustainability and Transformation Plans (STP) recently in the national news. We have recently published our local five-year Sustainability and Transformation Plan which covers the area of South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw. It sets out the vision, ambitions and priorities for the future of health and care in the region and is the result of many months of discussions across the STP partnership, including with patient representative groups and the voluntary sector.
You can find out more and download the plan here.
We want you to work with you to help shape our future plans, so in the new year we will be giving you opportunities to share your thoughts and influence what we do.
