NIFVS Recruiting Workforce Development Worker

WHIN is seeking to appoint a Workforce Development Worker to the NIFVS team. Applications close 3 April 2017.

Following the Royal Commission into Family Violence, the Victorian Government acknowledged the importance of workforce development in Ending Family Violence: Victoria’s Plan for Change. This role will help drive this priority area in the northern metropolitan region.

Responding to fathers who perpetrate family violence (NIFVS Forum)

On 22 March 2017, 100 participants explored how to improve responses to fathers who perpetrate family violence and prioritise the safety of women and children. Participants heard about recent research from University of Melbourne’s Dr Kristin Diemer and heard from a panel of regional specialists that work with fathers who perpetrate family violence. Participants also had an opportunity to reflect on their own practice with colleagues.

A summary of the forum and the presentations from the day will be uploaded to the NIFVS website next week.
