The diagnosis of Lyme disease is mostly based on two-tier testing, involving an ELISA followed by a Western Blot or Immunoblot method. These techniques have undergone very little changes for many years, but ITK is proud to introduce the new standard in Lyme testing: the Microblot-Array. This is an ELISA based immuno-blot that can be used with fully automated existing micro plate workstations. With the dedicated Scanner and user friendly software you can evaluate your results quick and easy. Screening for Lyme diseases is often performed with an ELISA. As a laboratory, you can choose between a separate IgG and IgM recombinant Antigen ELISA or a highly specific C6 peptide ELISA that detects IgG and IgM antibodies in one assay. Both assays can be applied manually or used in automation platforms like the DSX, DS2 or Bep2000.

Immunoblot and Microblot-Array
 
A positive result with an ELISA is in most cases confirmed with a blot technique. 
In this regard, you can either choose for a conventional immunoblot or you can explore our new method, an ELISA based immunoblot, the Microblot-Array. 
  • The conventional immunoblot:
    • Each single test contains all the reagents (ready-to-use) necessary for performing the test
    • Antigens used are a combination of selected parts of the specific antigens of Borrelia sp, highly specific antigens of Anaplasma phagocytophilum and specific antigens of Treponema pallidum (IgG) or EBV (IgM)
    • Short incubation times, total assay time: approximately 1.25 hours
    • Evaluation using Immunoblot Software
    • Shelf life: 12 months 
  • The Microblot-Array: 
    • Low sample consumption
    • Antigens spotted in triplicate - minimizing statistical variation
    • Fully automatic assay processing using existing open ELISA platforms
    • Automated results evaluation using dedicated reader and software
    • High sensitivity
    • Antigens used are a combination of selected parts of the specific antigens of Borrelia sp, highly specific antigens of Anaplasma phagocytophilum and specific antigens of Treponema pallidum (IgG) or EBV (IgM)
