No doubt you're thinking: "If only there was one more ATYP experience I could sink my teeth into before the year is done." Well...

CHARLIE PILGRIM - A SOLD OUT SENSATION

"In the sweet spot for 9-13 year-olds, Charlie Pilgrim playfully leads its audience to think about issues of self-esteem, problem-solving and teamwork in an appealingly wacky science-focused setting." - Audrey Journal

After enjoying a near sold-out season, Charlie Pilgrim (Or A Beginner's Guide to Time Travel) has closed with fantastic reviews!

Written by Sam O' Sullivan this winner of the 2017 ATYP Foundation Commission for 10-13 year old actors delighted audiences across Sydney.

Featuring a cast of 16 young people, Charlie Pilgrim will go on to be performed by schools around the country and will be available via ATYP On Demand in 2019.

INTERSECTION 2019: ARRIVAL

"I will never lose the love for the arriving, but I'm born to leave.” - Charlotte Eriksson

It’s midnight and twin siblings argue over what to do with the dog they just ran over. In a school common room a student is struggling to clean a sharpie drawing of a you-know-what off a window. In an undisclosed location a boy prepares for his new life in a special witness protection program for embarrassed youths.

Featuring ten electrifying short plays for young actors, written by some of the top emerging playwrights in the country, Intersection 2019: Arrival is funny, confronting and essential viewing.

"To witness such youthful triumph is indeed breathtaking."
- Suzy Goes See (Intersection 2018: Chrysalis)

FRESH INK END OF YEAR READINGS

Over recent weeks our Fresh Ink writers have had their final work read to audiences across the country!

We were delighted to host our NT writers for an epic weekend of readings in Sydney directed by ATYP Artistic Director Fraser Corfield and White Box Theatre's Kim Hardwick. Fraser then travelled to Perth to take part in the readings with our WA writers at Barking Gecko Theatre before heading to Melbourne to see our Victorian Fresh Ink-ers work! A busy week for the AD!

Special shout out to mentors Ross Mueller, Jane FitzGerald, Will O'Mahony, Mary-Anne Butler and Ciella Williams.

We couldn't be prouder of these strong new voices and powerful new plays!

BE SOMEONE'S ANGEL THIS CHRISTMAS

The best thing about drama is that you only need an imagination to create a fantastical world. For some of our young people, their reality outside the rehearsal room is vastly different. For our scholarship recipients, attending workshops means an escape, a chance for play and for learning.

Each year ATYP is able to offer over 100 scholarships to young people facing social and financial hardship giving them access to our holiday drama workshops thanks to your support.

During our 2018 Christmas Appeal we are aiming to raise $5,700 for 15 scholarship places in 2019.

Your gift will be a welcome surprise for a young person who will be given the opportunity for personal growth through the joy of drama and a love of theatre. Will you be a Christmas angel?

BE AN ANGEL
