Come Celebrate the 2017 AVA Photo Contest Winners 
You are cordially invited to attend a reception at the Albany's Visitors Association this coming Friday, March 17th, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The winning images will be on display, ribbons awarded, and we'll celebrate with special guests and the photographers. Mixology Madness
Here's a great way to spend an evening in Historic Downtown Albany, sampling a variety of cocktails whipped up by master mixologists. On Saturday, March 18th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., you can blind taste test cocktails submitted by local bartenders and mixologists. Tickets are $30 pre-event and $35 at the door. Each attendee receives a wristband and five tasting tickets; more tasting tickets are available during the event. Tickets are available for sale at both the Albany Downtown Association and the Natty Dresser. Ages 21 and over only please. This is an Albany Downtown Event. "Some Albany History"
 At 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 19th, Albany author and educator Edward Loy will discuss Albany of the past. The presentation will be held at the Lakeside Center at the Albany Mennonite Village, 2180 54th Ave SE. The presentation will focus on an Albany man named Charles W. Watts, who sought his fortune in the Yukon during the Klondike Gold Rush of the late 1890s.
Loy has lived in Albany since 1945. He has authored two books published by the Albany Regional Museum: "Tim-Burr; An Illustrated History of the World Championship Albany Timber Carnival" and "Gem of the Willamette Valley; A History of Albany, Oregon." Critterography!
 On Saturday March 25th at 10:00 a.m. at the Linn Benton Community College Gym, you and the kids can take a geographical adventure throughout the world with ventriloquist Vikki Gasko Green and her cast of international characters.
