"There is great purity in unity, and there is divinity in purity. When we get together united, we can achieve anything in the world. How do we get unity? When we develop broad mindedness that everybody belongs to us, we achieve unity. God did not divide the earth by drawing lines into various nations. Earth is one, sky is one, water is one, there is one moon and sun. God created one; He did not divide. Human beings divided because of their selfishness and self-interest. What we need is not vibhajana(division), but bhajana (devotion to God). When you have true devotion, there won’t be any division. But where there is division, there can’t be devotion."

INNER VIEW

-By Sri Madhusudan Naidu

Recently, one day after the morning interviews, as Swami went back to His room for lunch, two birthday boys came to seek His blessings. Swami blessed them and enquired as to which class they were studying in, and when the summer holidays would start.

The boys who were studying in Grade 9 and 10, replied in unison, that holidays would commence from April 5th.

Then Swami asked when would they come back from holidays?

Boys replied, "June 15th."

Swami was surprised and remarked, "Oh! Such a long holiday for you. See, I don't have even a single holiday. Sunday or Monday or Tuesday, I work on all days. No summer vacations for me. God has to work all the time to sustain this universe. Just imagine if Sun takes leave for two days, what will happen to the world. So God, out of selfless love works continuously without any holidays."

"This is the secret. Individual can be sacrificed for society, society for nation and nation for God", He continued.

"Always keep the welfare of others before yours, sacrifice your desires if that can give joy to others. Get good name during these HOLIDAYS  and make them HOLYDAYS, by engaging in acts of service and sharing what you have learnt with ten others. If the car moves on a good road, it will not meet with accidents, would not be affected by pot holes and other issues that damage and make it bad. Whereas if it goes on roads full of potholes and rough terrain, then it is bound to get damaged. You are going home like fresh, bright, new cars. Be on the good road (noble path) and come back as bright as you are now, without a scratch."

I was wondering how many boys, over how many years and decades, Swami has been patiently advising to be good and kind. To love and sacrifice for others. To make holidays as HOLYDAYS. No end to His patience and love.

HE CAN'T AFFORD TO TAKE LEAVE OR HAVE A HOLIDAY, NOT EVEN AFTER HE LEFT HIS BODY WHICH SERVED EVERYDAY TIRELESSLY, TILL IT COULD SERVE NO MORE!

We can't let His efforts go waste, we must rise from trivialities and become what He wants us to be, just like Him, love and serve, on all days, HOLYDAYS!

Breakfast Seva in Tharmapuram - Sri Lanka

“There are many school going children who do not have proper breakfast in the morning. With an empty stomach how can they study? Children are the next generation youth, and it our responsibility to nurture them right from the beginning. Children who either cannot afford or are not being served breakfast at home, should not go hungry to the school as it is detrimental to their physical and mental health!"
                                                              - Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba

The Breakfast Seva project started in 2012, when Bhagawan asked a few youth from South Bangalore to identify a village, where children who could not afford breakfast or were not being served breakfast, would go to school without eating until mid-day, when the mid-day meal would be served to them. Today this initiative has grown to 120 Centers across States in India, and over 8,000 children are benefiting from free breakfast every single morning.

This initiative is spreading its wings beyond the shores of India. When the Lord visited Sri Lanka in July 2016, He commanded the Sai Youth to commence the initiative in Batticaloa.

Breakfast Seva in Tharmapuram School has started, and the Zonal Director of Education and Public Health Inspector who participated, expressed his happiness, and was very appreciative of the initiative.

A CELEBRATION OF LOVE – SAI SPOORTHI – SATHYA SAI GRAMA, MUDDENAHALLI – SEPTEMBER 04, 2016

The Coming together of Sai Students – Children For Sathya Sai – The 16th CFSS Alumni Meet

The relationship between Bhagawan and His students is inexplicable. It is one of unfathomable love, underscored by an emotional connect that has to be experienced to be understood. Even so, it is beyond understanding.

The morning of September 4th witnessed the celebration of this unique bond of love between the Lord and His property. It was a day earmarked as the home-coming of Sai Students across the many Sathya Sai educational institutions, and it more than delivered on the anticipated excitement that had built up in the run up to it.

The young and the old, men and the women, all having experienced the bliss of being God’s students, bound by the love for and of God had gathered in the holy precincts of Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli. As the entire Sri Sathya Sai Premamrutham Hall waited with bated breath for the arrival of Bhagawan, the happiness was more than palpable.

Led by a motorcade, Bhagawan arrived at the hall around 9.30 A.M. He was then welcomed with traditional Poorna Kumbam and Vedic chants. As He was ushered in to the hall, He first went to the exhibition area, viewing each poster prepared by the old students for Sai Spoorthi function. He was then led to the dais in a regal procession by the students’ band, even as the entire hall reverberated with soulful bhajans in the background.

As soon as Bhagawan ascended the dais, the formal proceedings began with vedic chants by the students, both boys and girls of Bhagawan’s educational institutions. Many dignitaries and guests, such as Sri Anantha Kumar, Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers, Sri Basavaraj Rayareddy, Minister for....

Keep the Atmic light within burning bright
Summary of Divine Discourse on 04 September 2016

There is the flame of Atma in each of us, which is ever shining. On the spiritual path, first and foremost you have to cultivate faith. Every child comes into this world with a pure mind. But gradually, selfishness and self-interest in people around us stain us. Therefore, I tell you, “Tell me your company; I will tell you what you are.” When we are in good company, our mind will remain pure.

When we utilise this love and service to clean up our inner mind, then all the time the Atma jyothi, the lamp of the Atma, will shine bright and we will be able to experience it. One moment is enough to remove all darkness and fill our lives with light. That is the prayer: Lead me from darkness to light. From body consciousness of selfishness and self-interest, we need to move towards Divine consciousness. Inner purity, inner cleanliness is very important. The kinds of actions we should perform are those which will clean up our mind. On the glass cover of our mind, there is the lamp soot of selfishness and self-interest; which is why you are not able to experience the Atma. Therefore, you need to fill your thoughts, words and deeds with selflessness.

There may be a person who is building a house and feeling that he is building it to eke out his livelihood. Another person is doing the same job he may think that he is utilising the knowledge he gained through education and putting it to good use by serving society.  The third person will develop a spiritual feeling and feel that he is building a temple for God. The work they did is same. The action is one and the same but the inner motivation is different. As is our feeling, so is the consequence. All that you are doing you should continue to do. That is your duty, that is your Dharma.  It is a husband’s highest Dharma to look after his wife and children; for a housewife, to look after the husband and children and the family well. A part of our duty or Dharma....

GANESH CHATURTHI CELEBRATIONS – SATHYA SAI GRAMA, MUDDENAHALLI – SEPTEMBER 05, 2016

Lord Ganesha is extolled in the Vedic scriptures as the very embodiment of wisdom. As the son of Lord Shiva, who is God and Mother Parvathi, who embodies nature, Lord Ganesha is verily the principle of Atma that pervades both inside and outside (nature). Therefore, Lord Ganesha symbolises the journey from body consciousness to divine consciousness. Revered as the remover of obstacles, this festival was celebrated with much spiritual fervour in Sathya Sai Grama.

Bhagawan arrived at around 6 P.M and was welcomed into the Sri Sathya Sai Premamrutham Hall with the ceremonial Poorna Kumbham, even as Bhajans continued to fill the air with divine vibrations. The deity of the day, Lord Ganesha’s magnificent statue was also installed on the dais.

Once Bhagawan had ascended the dais, the evening programme began with the invocation by the Pre-University students from the Muddenahalli campus, chanting theGanesha Atharva Sheersham.

Following the invocation, two student speakers addressed the gathering. The first speaker was Kumari Chandana B Nagaraj, a second-year PU student studying in Sathya Sai Prashanthi Niketanam, Chikkaballapur Campus. She narrated her journey from an atheist to a firm believer in God, and confessed that obtaining a seat in the Sathya Sai Prashanthi Niketanam School was pure divine providence. She added that while adjusting to the spiritual environment that prevails in the Sai schools was very difficult and at first, she wanted to run away from there, she stayed on as per her parents’ wishes. Slowly but surely, she said that Bhagawan crept into her heart, touching her forever. She narrated a few incidents showing Swami’s love and concluded by praying to Swami to help everyone in their journey from Children OF Sathya Sai to Children FOR Sathya Sai, and finally to Sathya Sai.

The second speaker for the evening was Sri Bhargav Sai,....

Who is Lord Ganesha?
Summary of Divine Discourse on 05 September, 2016

Man keeps on increasing the number of his relationships as he grows. First, he has father and mother, then brothers and sisters, then come friends and after that come wife and children. But all these relationships are based on the body and not on the Atma. Once the body is lost, there is no relationship with anyone. But the truth is man is not only the body. The word ‘Manava’ means he is not ‘Nava’, he is not new. In fact, human personality is a combination of three components: body, mind and spirit. That is why Swami tells us, “You are not one but three.” One is what you think you are – that is the body; second, what others think you are – that is the mind; third, what you really are – that is the Atma or the spirit. The body is mine but I am not the body. Mind is mine but I am not the mind. It is necessary that you recognise the truth that you are not the body, your body is different from you. Similarly, thoughts and feelings that arise in your minds, they just arise in your mind, they are not you. We feel hungry. You say “I am hungry,” you are not saying that you and hunger are one and the same. Our true nature cannot be comprehended by the mind nor described by words. We may describe the body. We may also explain the mind. But you will not know the Atma until you experience it.

The experience of the Atma is the real nature of man. When you develop relationships based on the Atma, they are true relationships. Who is our mother? Nothing but the truth, the eternal truth that is the Atma! Wisdom is father. Right conduct is brother. Compassion is the friend. Peace is the wife. Forgiveness is the child. These are the six true relatives for us. These six relatives are permanent; they will be always with us and lead us to the right destination.

We worship Ganapathi as the son of Shiva but the relationship between Ganesha and Shiva,...
