"Spirituality is the awareness of divinity within and without. Sans the nurtured roots, spirituality, the tree of morality and the branches of fear of sin, cannot exist. We must pour the water of selfless love in to the roots that is spirituality. Only when the roots are nourished, can the trunk and branches flourish. It will be foolish to assume that we can do away with spirituality and talk only about moral values. May be by force of law it can be enforced for sometime, but if we want permanent results we must bring it out of source of Love for God."

With the Blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, we are delighted to present our sixteenth issue of Ananda Vahini. The weekly newsletter includes interesting musings and short excerpts from the week's events.

In this week's issue, we bring you highlights from the current ongoing Divine Visit  to Japan, Singapore and Bali, between March 18 and March 26, 2016. Hand-picked Gurus from 10 countries arrived in Japan for the second 'Guru Vikas' meet. 'Guru Vikas' is an initiative launched by Bhagawan in September 2015; a specialised programme for the training of mindful teachers. This is
a very unique mission of developing, nurturing, motivating, and training teachers across the world. "Like ‘Bal Vikas’, ‘Guru Vikas’ will become a global movement cutting across geographies, philosophies, sects, languages, cultures and creeds. This will be a beacon light for teachers all around the world to transform themselves in order to transform the nation, through education", reveals Bhagawan.

Divine Visit to Japan, Singapore and Bali

The first of the three back-to-back trips to ten countries between March 18 and April 28, 2016, began on the morning of Friday, March 18, when Bhagawan’s entourage boarded the flight to Singapore. As always, the Lord would reach the destination by skyline, waiting to welcome His entourage!

The ever loving devotees from Singapore, led by Dr Ravi Pillay welcomed the entourage at the Changi airport. After a quick refreshing break, Bhagawan along with His entourage made their way to a ling time devotee’s residence for dinner. The house was resplendent with candles, flowers and more importantly the warmth exuded, looked just perfect to receive God! It was an intimate family gathering, and they basked in His love. While speaking to the family, Swami spoke about how important it is to keep God at the center of everything that we do. He said, “A house is a building made of bricks. It becomes a home when people living in the house love each other selflessly. The home becomes heaven, when God is placed in the center of each person’s life.” Only Swami can explain the highest of truths in such simple palatable ways, which are easy to comprehend and leaves everyone definitely in a contemplative mode! After blessing the home and partaking His dinner, Swami along with the entourage went back to the Pillay residence. He insisted everyone retire early, as there was an early morning flight to Tokyo.

Devotees from the Land of the Rising Sun – Japan, in all eagerness and humility waited with bated breath to welcome their Master. Many months of preparation and hard work went behind the scenes, for the Lord’s second trip to Japan. The entourage landed at the Haneda International Airport in Tokyo in the evening at 5pm & were driven straight to the Izu Peninsula, a four-hour drive from Tokyo, and venue for the Japan satsang this year. After dinner the entourage retired, eager to welcome the next morning, which was filled with promises of great insights into the ‘Guru Vikas’, or 'Blossoming of the teacher’. The last couple of days had witnessed heightened activity, as Gurus from ten countries – Australia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Singapore, UAE, UK and the USA, had arrived for the second ‘Guru Vikas’ meet.

The Izu Peninsula is a large mountainous peninsula with....

March 20, 2016 - Japan - Evening

The evening session was a public satsang and over 200 devotees had gathered at the Amagi Sanso Chapel. Bhagawan was welcomed amidst the sacred chants of Rudram, and the energy of love which engulfed the air was enigmatic.

Brother Genzo Makino, who along with wife are the hosts of Bhagawan in Japan, welcome the gathering and offered loving gratitude on behalf of all the devotees to dear Bhagawan. Sri C Sreenivas was the first speaker of the evening, and he stressed on the important aspect of faith. He urged all gathered to seize the moment of Bhagawan’s mission.

Sri B N Narasimha Murthy addressed the gathering thereafter. He vividly recalled the six phases of 16 years each in the Avataric sojourn. The six phases are: Leela (1926-1942), Mahima (1942 – 1958), Upadesh (1958 – 1974), Vidya (1990 – 2006) and Sanathana Dharma (2006 – 2022). He also vividly described about Swami in the subtle and about the ongoing mission. For the benefit of all gathered, Brother Makino translated all the talks to Japanese.

Bhagawan started His divine discourse  with a quote from the Vedas which prays that all should be happy, healthy, see auspiciousness around, and no one should be sorrowful. He said that this prayer is common to all cultures and faiths. All believe that everyone....

March 21, 2016 - Japan - Morning

Everyone woke up to a very cold morning with the sun hiding behind the clouds. Swami was served breakfast at the hotel room which was tastefully  decorated to suit His residence. Ingredients were flown in to cook and serve the authentic Indian dishes like, Pongal, Upma, Sambar and chutney. To top it all, delicious and juicy Japanese fruits, the best of their kind in the whole world, made their way to the breakfast table.

After serving breakfast to  Swami, His entourage along with Dr Ravi Pillay and Sri Anthony Tan from Singapore, waited for the Lord to emerge from His room. He came out at around 9am and walked straight up to the large French windows of the hotel suite, that revealed a magnificent view of the west Pacific Ocean. Swami said, "Sun is not seen today, however it does not mean that he is not there. He is very much behind  the clouds that have covered our view. Similarly even if God is not seen, He is still there; just that our vision is covered by clouds of doubts. These are passing clouds, and must go to reveal the truth”. A perfect master that He is, does not leave a single opportunity to teach a great lesson, in the most simple and unassuming way!
