“A water bubble is born in water, floats on water and ultimately merges into water. This water bubble is none other than man, and water is God Himself. This is the word of truth. The word of Sai!”

Bhagawan says,“We can be successful leaders only if we are disciplined followers, who do not issue commands to others, but rather set an example of service in our actions.” Sri Indulal Shah is indeed an absolute personification of these words. Drawing inspiration from Bhagawan's life and teachings, he believes serving mankind selflessly without attaching the feeling of doership or supremacy to actions, and overcoming the differences of caste, creed or religion is the crux of the philosophy of service.

Sankranti with Sai!

Thursday, January 14, 2016

The festival of harvest is celebrated in myriad ways, in different parts of the country – Makara Sankranti in Andhra Pradesh and various parts of North India, Pongal in Tamil Nadu, Lohri in Punjab and Bihu in Assam. It symbolizes prosperity, plenty, abundance and harmony. In South India, the first of the three-day festival is called Bhogi, where people gather to celebrate the day in honour of Lord Indra, the God of rains and clouds, thanking him for a good crop.

At Muddenahalli too, on the auspicious evening of Bhogi and eve of Makar Sankranti, devotees gathered to rejoice this festival of harvest with their beloved Lord. Bhagawan arrived at the magnificent Sri Sathya Sai Premamrutham auditorium at about 6 pm, led by the ceremonial Poorna Kumbam and Veda chanting by students of the Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva High School. Students and alumni of the Sathya Sai educational institutions, offered soulful bhajans at the Lotus Feet of Bhagawan.

Sankranti with Sai!

Friday, January 15, 2016

Summary of Bhagawan's Divine Discourse on the auspicious morning of Sankranti.

The whole world is always full of activity which is prompted by three qualities. The first is the tamasic, second is the rajasic and the third is the satvic quality. Thus we find in every human being, there are the three qualities: the animal qualities, the human qualities and the divine qualities respectively. The ultimate goal of life is to rise from animal qualities to human qualities and finally from human qualities to divine qualities.

There are four things which are common to human beings and also animals: food, sleep, fear and procreation. Only when we develop divine qualities, human life finds fulfilment. On the day of Sankranti, there is what is called a Bhogi manta, or a fire, which is created out of the grass from the harvest. Into this, we put all our unwanted qualities and burn them. In the bhogi fire, we have to put our instincts of bhoga or enjoyment and then rise to the level of yoga. On this day of bhogi, when we give up our instincts and urge for worldly enjoyment, then we can rise to the level of yoga and enjoy divine joy.

‘Believing is seeing’ - The Bangalore Visit

Sunday, January 17, 2016 - Bangalore

It was a bright sunny morning, and the Lord with His entourage were ready to visit an ardent devotee in CV Raman Nagar in Bangalore. Atleast for Bangaloreans, the mention of CV Raman Nagar conjures the names, Sri Vasudev and Smt Meena Vasudev. For close to two decades now, Swami's presence, via miracles, numerous manifestations, and even personal guidance, in their residence is a well-known fact. 'Faith' and 'Belief' are the ultimate cornerstones of our spiritual core. Devotees from far and wide visit the Vasudev residence to experience the Lord, with the same 'faith and 'belief', that God is beyond 'attributes, form and time', like the Vedas declare.

In his quest for self improvement, Sri SA Vasudev, a scientist at Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), was a voracious reader of books written by Mahatma Gandhi ji, and at some point during that literary journey, his desire for self improvement grew stronger. Around the same time, he heard about Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, and the quest to know Him, led Sri Vasudev to Swami. Before the first encounter, he read a book by Mrs Rita Bruce which convinced him about Swami's divinity. His first Darshan in February 1996, deepened that belief. In that first Darshan, there was no words or no vibhuti. It was pure love, pure Darshan!

Soon the entire family, wife Meena and their four-year-old, Avinash became regulars at Darshans. Bhagawan showed His presence at their residence for the very first time on May 1, 2001, when vibhuti manifested on Swami's wall calendar. Over five days, Swami showed the Sarva Dharma symbols via vibhuti, and the manifestation concluded with.....
