Ambassador begins role as UN General Assembly Vice-President with a surprising twist...

Danny Danon the Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations has taken up the position of Vice President of the UN General Assembly.

Palestinian Authority dealt blow as UN tourism body delays membership vote for two years

The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) announced on Wednesday it will be postponing until its next session, in two years, a decision on allowing the Palestinian Authority to join the body as a full member.

The Palestinians have been attempting in recent years to gain access to international bodies in a bid to unilaterally gain recognition of its statehood and by doing so, bypassing peace negotiations with Israel.

Study finds anti-Semitic attitudes in Britain highest among Muslims and “very right-wing”

The findings of a new in-depth study into anti-Semitism were released this week. The results showed that the highest percentages of anti-Semitism were found in British Muslims and those who identified as “very right-wing.”

The general population of Britain showed that just 2.4% of the British public expressed multiple anti-Semitic attitudes “readily and confidently”. Around 30% of the public agreed with at least one question that would be deemed as anti-Semitic. The study notes that the United Kingdom has one of the lowest levels of anti-Semitism in the world. However, there is clearly more work to be done.

Jewish wedding in Brighton evacuated after "hoax" bomb scare

A bomb hoax at Brighton's Grand Hotel on Sunday forced Dan and Gaby Rosehill and their 218 wedding guests to evacuate and take refuge at a neighbouring hotel.

Despite the evacuation, the make-shift Jewish ceremony went ahead. Gaby said, "I could hear the guests all cheering. My bridesmaids danced down the aisle, I was really emotional, both in shock and just in the beauty and true romance of it all. It’s a funny story to look back on, and we still had an amazing time.”
