China's Entrepreneurs Series Launch
 
Early this month, we launched the China's Entrepreneurs Series at London's prestigiousSouthbank Centre.
 
The event kicked off with food and drinks, followed by a warm welcome from Martin Liu, General Manager at LID Publishing, who then introduced Jiang Jun, Vice President of China Publishing Group Corp. to the stage for a few words.
 
Next followed a diverse panel discussion with guests Professor Yi-Ke-Guo, Director of Data Science Institute at Imperial College London, Michael Jenkins, Chief Executive at Roffey Park, Dr Jun Li, Senior Lecturer of Management Science & Entrepreneurship at University of Essex, Grace Wang, China Economist at Chinese Business Social Network (CBSN) and Ben Walker, Editor of Dialogue Magazine, who chaired the discussion. Last month, Tim Love celebrated the second edition paperback release of his award-winning title, The Book That Gets Better With Age. Huge thanks to Barnes & Noble Naples for hosting, and of course, to all of the fans who came out to show their support for positive ageing!

LID China Annual Editorial Board Meeting

LID’s China editorial board was at the Man Ho Restaurant in Shanghai for its third annual meeting. In attendance from LID were Marcelino Elosua, Martin Liu and Monica Wang. We were able to welcome a new member to the China editorial board: Professor Jiang Qingyun of the School of Management, Fudan University. As well as reviewing a strong 2016 for LID in China (during which projects with Dalian Wanda, JD.com and Huawei were undertaken), the board discussed the importance of entrepreneurs in China’s growth, the re-emergence of long-form reading (particularly books) amongst younger people in China, and the continued globalisation of several of China’s main companies. Several interesting ideas for potential projects and collaborations were discussed, and the evening ended with LID showing its appreciation to the board members for their continued support.

Launch of Leadership Made in Spain

Leadership Made in Spain by José Manuel Casado was presented at the Crystal Tower in Madrid earlier this month. The book
 shows the keys to competitiveness through the testimony of 12 great Spanish directors.

During the presentation, José Manuel Casado moderated the panel discussion in which two of the contributors to the book took part: Carlos Espinosa de Los Monteros, High Commissioner of the Government for the Brand Spain, and Francisco Román, president of Vodafone Spain.
