Summer Solstice Supper
It has always been a dream of SheWorks Collective's Founder Joanna Black to hold a dinner party with women who inspire her, but alas, she's never had a big enough space! Luckily, the SheWorks Collective office was the perfect venue.

To prep for the supper, Joanna went shopping for fresh, locally sourced produce at the Union Square Market. With the help of BonBite NYC, a catering company dedicated to creating global inspired dishes using sustainably farmed produce, we were able to find all of the supper's ingredients from local farmers.

We had a fantastic time at the dinner with women forging a path in their industries. A discussion was led by retail analyst and TV personality Hitha Herzog, themed around money and why it is such a point of contention in the lives of women. Each woman came with one "ask", or something she needed help with. It was a reminder that it shouldn't feel awkward or uncomfortable to ask for help from other successful women! A big thanks to all of the women who attended for being so open and honest in our discussion. Suffice to say that everyone took something valuable away from the dinner.

With the supper being so successful, we can't wait for the next. Be on the lookout for the next invitation!

Retrain Your Brain
We had a great time learning to rethink the way we think with Jackie Kellso! Many thanks to THRIVE, the professional women's group, for collaborating with us on the event, and thank you to all who attended! It was a great way to network and learn how to stop mental blocks from getting in the way of our success.

Who Is She?

This month's spotlighted SheWorks Collective member is Hitha Herzog. Hitha was the guest speaker at the Summer Solstice Supper, and did a fantastic job leading the group in an open and honest discussion on money, and how it affects our lives. She focused around questions such as why it's a point of contention in so many things we do as women, the ways in which it rule decisions we make as entrepreneurs, breadwinners, or in some cases the sole income in our households, and looked at the ways we can we have a better relationship with it. Before the dinner, she asked that everyone invited come with one "ask", something they needed help with, advice that they were seeking, or a goal they wanted to accomplish.

Hitha has an eclectic and prolific career as a New York based author, investigative reporter, and retail analyst. Her recent publication, Black Market Billions: How Organized Retail Crime Funds Terrorists is out now, and discusses the criminal activity linked to the black market and counterfeit products. She is a fantastic and valuable member of our collective!
We'll keep our eyes peeled for opportunities to help your business grow!
