April 2nd: CSI Tanzania Convened Maternal Health Stakeholders and Community Members CSI Tanzania convened Community Leaders, Religious Leaders, University of Muhimbili Professors, Public and Private Partners, and community members at Kata Offices in Ukonga to engage stakeholders in a conversation to reduce preventable maternal and newborn mortality plus develop concrete next steps to show definite commitment in saving mothers and babies in Tanzania. 100 pregnant women in their last two weeks of the third trimester were invited to be part of this dialogue, their concerns heard, and they each received maternity pads donated by Kays Hygiene, a CSI-partner. #CSITanzania
April 11th: International Day for Maternal Health & Rights CSI joined Center for Health and Gender Equity and shared blogs to contribute to the blog carnival voices advocating for maternal health and rights, calling on the United Nations to recognize International Day for Maternal Health & Rights. #EveryBirthCounts.
April 25th: World Malaria Day CSI Tanzaniawill join Jakaya Kikwete Youth Park, Symbion Power, and GrassrootSoccer for an all-day community outreach event to educate, inform, and provide free malaria testing services. A packed agenda including fun games for children. #CSITanzania.
April 26th: Every Last Child Campaign Launch in Uganda CSI Uganda will join Save The Children to launch 'Every Last Child' Campaign. Invited guests include Honorable Rebecca Kadaga, Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda. #CSIUganda.
