Green Business Competition aims to stimulate and encourage innovation for green business ideas at the local level and explores the role of philanthropy in engaging local communities to generate green business ideas that utilize local resources and revitalize disappearing traditional production chains and community-based markets. Apply now

GIVING CIRCLE ALBANIA
Partners Albania opens the call for applications for all NPOs that have a concrete idea or initiative in place to bring about social change in the community, with the support of the community itself. The three best ideas to be selected, will receive financial and in-kind support through a live crowdfunding during the "Giving Circle" event to be held in Albania for the second time, in May 2020. Read more about Giving Circle in Albania
PROJECTS UNDER IMPLEMENTATION

INAUGURATION OF SOCIAL CRAFTING GARAGE – ANOTHER SOCIAL ENTERPRISE ESTABLISHED IN A CONFISCATED ASSET FROM THE ORGANIZED CRIME
Social Crafting Garage is a workshop set up in a confiscated asset in Saranda, where eight women and girls – victims of organized crime and domestic violence – have been trained and hired to produce handcrafted products using sea stones. Furthermore, Social Crafting Garage will serve as a social hub supporting the re-integration of women and girls, victims or at risk of organized crime and domestic violence. Read more

SOCIAL RE-USE OF CONFISCATED ASSETS FROM ORGANIZED CRIME, A MESSAGE OF TRUST AND SOCIAL JUSTICE 
Partners Albania organized workshops with non-profit organizations in Tirana, Durres, Vlora and Shkodra on the establishment of social enterprises on confiscated assets from organized crime. Successful experiences of the first three social enterprises set up on confiscated assets from organized crime in Albania: KeBuono Social Pastry, KinFolk Coffee Library and Social Crafting Garage Saranda, combined with the Italian experience brought by Project Ahead and Comitato don Peppe Diana was presented and discussed with the participants. Transforming confiscated assets into spaces where are produced goods, provided services, and rehabilitation and integration opportunities for victims and groups at risk from organized crime - conveys messages of trust and social justice to the community. Read more
EMBRACE-Entrepreneurship Models Building Relations and Creative Economy is an initiative implemented in Albania, contributing to the advancement of the legal environment for social enterprises, support to existing and new SEs to tailor their products/services, and/or find their niche in the market by using the existing legal and institutional setup. EMBRACE is implemented by Partners Albania in partnership with Project Ahead and it is funded by the European Union. ACTIVITIES OF THE NATIONAL RESOURCE CENTRE FOR CIVIL SOCIETY IN ALBANIA 
Started for this year the NPO Academy, a program that serves as a non-formal education space for the enhancement of skills and development of competences of CSOs executives in Albania. The NPO Academy is organized by the National Resource Center for Civil Society in Albania. Among other NRC activities during this period were 4 training programs, 3 information sessions and 3 consultations with NPOs on various topics of interest to the civil society in Albania. THE PROJECTS SUPPORTED THROUGH THE SECOND CALL OF THE SUB-GRANTING SCHEME OF THE CIVIL SOCIETY PROGRAMME FOR ALBANIA AND KOSOVO
The ‘Civil Society programme for Albania and Kosovo’ is financed by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and managed by the Kosovar Civil Society Foundation (KCSF) in partnership with Partners Albania for Change and Development. PHILANTHROPY AWARDS 2019 WINNERS ANNOUNCED
Partners Albania organized on February 7th, the ceremony where were announced the winners of Philanthropy Awards 2019.
Since 2011, Partners Albania organizes the Philanthropy Awards event to express appreciation and gratitude to individuals, families, and businesses who contribute to improving the quality of life in our society. 
The ceremony was honored by the presence of distinguished guests from the Albanian government and members of Albanian Parliament, representatives of diplomatic bodies accredited in Albania, international institutions and donor agencies, representatives of the business sector, nonprofit organizations and media. YOUTH MOVEMENT - A NEW PAGE FOR LOCAL COMMUNITIES is Partners Albania's newest initiative within LevizAlbania. This four-year project aims to create a movement of young people across Albania, by educating them with a sense of voluntarism, activism, and responsibility, as well as strengthening the relationships between youth and local communities towards a stronger democracy. During January - February 2020, Partners Albania organized four 4 day camps, with the participation of 80 young people, students from 4 high schools of Vlora and Shkodra. Read more

SOCIAL ENTERPRISES AND THEIR ECOSYSTEMS IN EUROPE - Comparative Synthesis Report
This EU level synthesis report collates and interprets the key findings from country reports and draws a European picture of social enterprises and the environments in which they operate, the “ecosystems”.

PUBLIC EVENTS
PARTNERS ALBANIA, PART OF THE DISCUSSIONS AT THE WESTERN BALKANS CSO SUMMIT
Juliana Hoxha, Partners Albania Executive Director was part of the discussions of the Western Balkans CSO Summit organized by the Western Balkans Fund. The summit gathered representatives of civil society across Balkans, government representatives, donors and regional cooperation institutions discussing the importance of regional cooperation as a key factor to reconciliation and economic prosperity. Read more

PARTNERS ALBANIA AT THE #PEXFORUM2020 - PHILANTHROPY EUROPE NETWORKS FORUM 
In January 2020, Juliana Hoxha, PA Director participated in the #PEXForum2020 - Philanthropy Europe Networks Forum in Madrid, which marks the very first European event that brings together philanthropic institutions at European level along with academics and researchers in the field! EUROPEAN LEVEL DISCUTION ON THE SOCIAL ECONOMY AND SOCIAL ENTERPRISES
Partners Albania is a member of #DIESIS, one of the largest European networks specialized in supporting the development of the social economy, social entrepreneurship and social innovation through training, project design, consultancy, advisory services, technical assistance and research. In February, the network members gathered in Brussels to discuss the new Commission's strategy on social economy and social enterprises.
